Getting Started

What Crossroads is

Crossroads (often remembered as Classic: Crossroads) is Roblox’s original multiplayer BrickBattle on Place ID 1818 (Universe 13058, created by Roblox). You join a free-for-all with up to eight players on a destructible map divided into four quarters: Blackrock Castle, Thieves’ Den, Lost Temple, and the Tower (with trampoline). Weapons scatter the arena — Sword, Rocket Launcher, Bomb/Timebomb, Slingshot, Superball, Trowel, and Paintball Gun.

This guide gets you from “just clicked Play” to “I understand why I died.” Official place: Crossroads on Roblox. For inputs, see Controls. For geography, see the Map guide.

Step 1 — Join and read the spawn

  1. Open the place from Roblox Home/Search or our Links Hub.
  2. Wait for the character to load into a quarter. Note landmarks: castle stone, den caves, temple stairs, or tower/trampoline.
  3. Move immediately. Standing still in spawn is a free Rocket for someone else.
  4. Pick up the nearest S- or A-tier tool if available (Rocket, Superball, Sword, Slingshot). Rankings live on the Tier List.

If you spawned with nothing strong, path toward obvious weapon pads while using cover. Do not greed a Paintball duel in the open against a rocketeer.

Step 2 — Understand team beacons

Beacons are the beginner trap.

  • Touching a beacon can heal you and recolor your team appearance.
  • The mode is still free-for-all — colors are not permanent alliances.
  • Touching a second beacon of a different color can kill you.

Practical rule: heal on your current color when low; do not casually stroll across every glowing pad you see. Many Hunt tourists die to beacons, not to swords. More map context: Map guide.

Step 3 — Learn the seven weapons (quick)

WeaponBeginner use
Rocket LauncherBest neutral delete; aim feet/walls for splash
SuperballThrows and bounces; S-tier finisher
SwordWin close fights and interiors
SlingshotMid-range chip
Bomb/TimebombDeny stairs and doorways
TrowelInstant cover / platforms
Paintball GunLast resort poke

Deep dive: Weapons guide. Rankings: Weapons Tier Breakdown.

Step 4 — Survive the first minute

Crossroads rounds feel short and chaotic. A reliable opener:

  1. Grab Rocket or Superball.
  2. Take high ground or a doorway with an exit.
  3. Fight people already distracted — third-partying wins FFA.
  4. When low, beacon-heal carefully, then re-peek.
  5. If a fight is unwinnable, rotate to another quarter instead of ego-challenging.

Playstyle names help once you survive a few lives: Players Hub covers Rocket Main, Sword Duelist, Superball Sniper, Builder, and Hybrid.

Step 5 — Destructible terrain basics

Rockets and bombs change the map. Soft cover disappears. Paths open. Beginners should:

  • Not trust a wooden wall forever
  • Watch for new sightlines after explosions
  • Use Trowel walls as temporary shields, then move

Builders who static-camp get splash deleted. Builders who reshape a choke and leave can control tempo — see Builder notes under Players.

Step 6 — Optional: Hunt onboarding

If you arrived because of The Hunt: Roblox 20, do not skip fundamentals. Talk to Builderman, find hub badge icons, then earn Crossroads KOs (commonly 3; some guides say 4 — trust the UI). Walkthroughs: Crossroads Tower, How to get KOs, Hunt update.

There are no promo codes for Classic Crossroads — Codes Hub.

Step 7 — After your first session checklist

Common beginner mistakes

  1. Ignoring beacons’ second-touch rule — instant regret.
  2. Maining Paintball — slowest path to competence.
  3. Shooting rockets in closets — self-splash city.
  4. Chasing into Den without sword — rocketeers get sliced.
  5. Believing fake codes sites — waste of time.

What “good” looks like after one hour

You can name your spawn quarter, secure at least one S-tier tool per life, heal without suicide beacons, and finish a weakened player with Sword or Superball. You do not need perfect bounce shots yet — that comes with Superball Sniper practice and the weapons article.

Crossroads rewards curiosity and map IQ more than pay-to-win. Learn the loop, then specialize. When you are ready for advanced routes, jump to the Map guide and start calling your own rotates like a veteran BrickBattler.
