Crossroads Map Quarters Guide
Callouts, rotations, and fight plans for every classic BrickBattle quarter on Place 1818.
Map fantasy
Classic Crossroads splits its destructible arena into four memorable quarters: Blackrock Castle, Thieves’ Den, Lost Temple, and the Tower (with trampoline). Free-for-all lobbies (max eight) constantly migrate between them as weapons respawn and explosions rewrite cover. Learning the quarters is the difference between random deaths and planned KOs.
New players should finish Getting Started first. Bring Controls habits and a tier-aware loadout.
Shared systems on every quarter
- Destructible terrain — rockets and bombs open new lanes; never memorize one eternal wall.
- Weapon pads — rotate; do not AFK a single pickup forever.
- Beacons — heal/recolor; a second different color can kill.
- Verticality — roofs, stairs, trampoline; camera discipline matters.
Official place: Crossroads.
Blackrock Castle
Vibe: Stone battlements, bridges, dramatic rocket angles.
Castle is the postcard of Crossroads. Bridges create predictable crossfires. Rockets shine when you hold angles off the bridge while enemies contest the middle. Swords win once fights collapse into halls. Trowel walls on battlements are temporary; splash eats them.
Play plans
- Rocket Main: hold outer angles, splash bridge stacks (Players).
- Sword Duelist: invite rocketeers indoors.
- Builder: gate a stair briefly, then leave — do not become a piñata.
Hunt note: Tourists flock to Castle landmarks — excellent KO density during The Hunt.
Thieves’ Den
Vibe: Tight interiors, ambush energy, anti-splash spaces.
Den punishes lazy Rocket greed. If you fire into a closet, you eat your own splash. Swords and well-placed Bombs dominate. Slingshot can chip through partial cover, but finishes still want melee or a careful ball at exits.
Play plans
- Enter with Sword pre-selected (Controls).
- Bomb the doorway behind you when chased.
- Smoke out campers by breaking destructible bits, then resetting to a safe beacon color.
Avoid: Chasing a single kill so deep that two other players seal the exit.
Lost Temple
Vibe: Stairs, courtyards, mid-range geometry.
Temple is Superball and Slingshot country with frequent Rocket stair stacks. Height advantage is real — hold upper rings when you can. Destructible stairs change mid-match; a missing step can strand a pursuer for a free ball.
Play plans
- Superball Sniper: bank shots across yards (Players).
- Hybrid: Rocket the stair clump, ball the survivor, Sword if they close.
- Paintball: only if literally nothing else spawned — swap ASAP (Weapons).
Tower (with trampoline)
Vibe: Vertical chaos, Hunt iconography, high-risk peeks.
The Tower quarter’s trampoline launches players into messy airtime. Shooting airborne targets is harder than holding the landing zone. During Crossroads Tower hat farming, you do not need to live on the trampoline — you need KOs, which often happen when people land, gather, and scramble for gear.
Play plans
- Splash the pad clusters.
- Avoid ego mid-air duels unless you are practicing style shots.
- Trowel platforms can create alternate angles — keep an exit.
- If the trampoline tilts your camera, reset sensitivity habits from Controls.
Rotation checklist
A healthy full-map loop for Hybrids:
- Castle — check bridge fight
- Cut toward Temple stairs if Castle is empty
- Sweep Den only with melee readiness
- Touch Tower landings if you hear trampoline traffic
- Beacon heal on one color when low
- Repeat toward whichever quarter still has weapon pads and noise
Empty quarter? Rotate early. Crowded quarter with you holding Paintball? Leave or grab better gear first.
Callouts you can say in party chat
Even in FFA, friends in voice use short calls:
- “Bridge” — Castle bridge
- “Den door” — Den entry choke
- “Temple stair” — vertical Temple fight
- “Pad” — trampoline landing
- “Beacon” — heal pad (specify color if needed)
Destructible mindset drills
- Rocket a soft wall on purpose; note the new sightline.
- Bomb a stair edge; see who gets stranded.
- Rebuild with Trowel at a 45° angle, not a flat shield.
- Re-clear Castle after a big explosion — spawns will refill.

Master the four quarters and Crossroads stops feeling like four random screenshots. It becomes one readable arena with predictable migration — and that is when your KO rate climbs.
Frequently Asked Questions
Quick answers to the most common questions.
What are the four Crossroads map quarters?
Blackrock Castle, Thieves' Den, Lost Temple, and the Tower with its trampoline.
Which quarter is best for rockets?
Castle bridges and Temple stairs are prime splash zones. Den interiors are riskier for self-damage.
Where should Sword players go?
Thieves' Den and Castle interiors reward melee timing more than open yards.
Do I need to play on the trampoline for the Tower hat?
Not specifically. Hunt needs Crossroads KOs; trampoline fights are optional chaos near the Tower landmark.
How often does the map change?
Geometry shifts during a session because terrain is destructible, even though the quarter layout stays recognizable.
